Why do Lifefactory bottles have a silicone sleeve?
Our silicone sleeves were designed not only to look stylish but also help protect the bottle from the occasional bump and drop. The material and design combine to improve the grip on bottle and reduces the potential for breakage.
What are the sleeves on Lifefactory bottles made of?
Silicone is made from silica, the most common constituent of sand, plus other materials.
Does Lifefactory sell its sleeves separately?
No, silicone sleeves are not sold separately.
How do I wash the bottle?
All components of Lifefactory products can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. The silicone sleeve does not have to be removed from the bottle to clean. It is recommended to place caps on the top rack of the dishwasher.
To sanitize baby products - the Borosilicate glass baby bottle, caps and silicone parts can be boiled in water. See the Care & Use instructions for details.
DO NOT BOIL the glass hydration bottle.
Can I put boiling water in my beverage bottle to make tea?
No, the glass hydration bottles cannot be used with boiling water since it is made from soda lime glass. Although soda lime glass is strong, it is not resistant to rapid temperature changes or impact. If bottle is left in car during extreme temperatures, glass can become damaged. It will expand and crack if left in the freezer or hit with boiling water.
Can I put the beverage bottle filled with water in the freezer?
DO NOT PUT OUR GLASS HYDRATION BOTTLES IN THE FREEZER OR BOILING WATER. See Care & Use instructions for details.
What about the baby bottle? Can I boil and freeze the baby bottle?
Yes. Lifefactory glass baby bottles are made from borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is known for its superior durability, chemical and heat resistance, and is excellent for use in chemical laboratory equipment and cookware. This allows the baby bottle to go from the freezer to boiling water pot.
When freezing, store the bottle in an upright position. DO NOT FILL TO TOP. Leave a minimum of 2oz/58 ml of open space from neck of bottle to allow for expansion and prevent glass breaking while frozen. See Care & Use instructions for details.
Do I need to take the sleeve off to wash a Lifefactory bottle?
No, you can leave the sleeve on the bottle and wash the whole thing in the dishwasher. The bottle and sleeve in tandem can be placed on the bottom rack of the dishwasher.
If you wish to remove the sleeve from a hydration bottle, baby bottle, or food storage container, it’s best to use warm, soapy water to carefully slide the sleeve off of the glass. To put the sleeve back on the product, use warm soapy water to slide the sleeve back onto the glass. Rinse off any residual soap from the bottle and let dry.
For beverage glasses and wine glasses, we do not recommend removing the sleeve from the glass.

LIFEFACTORY GLASS BABY BOTTLES
Why is glass a better choice than plastic for baby bottles?
Glass is a better choice for baby bottles because it does not leach chemicals into the contents of the bottle. Glass bottles are also recyclable and reusable.
Lifefactory brand offers a solution by combining a sturdy glass bottle with a custom-designed silicone sleeve to help protect the glass from breaking.
Borosilicate Glass Bottles are “thermal shock resistant”. What does this mean?
Our baby bottles are made with high quality thermal shock-resistant borosilicate glass which allows safe transition from freezer to boiling water. Our baby bottles can be used to freeze liquids - see Care & Use Guide for proper storage instructions. Soda lime bottles do not have this quality. For mothers who pump and store breast milk, our bottles can go from freezer to refrigerator to hot water for feeding all in one step.
What safety certifications do Lifefactory baby bottles have?
All products are subjected to rigorous testing by independent testing laboratories to produce products that meet our safety standards.
Do Lifefactory baby bottles have a venting system?
Yes, the silicone nipples have a traditional venting system, in which ridges are located on the flange of the nipple. Tightening the ring too much will prevent ventilation and may cause nipple collapse.
What kind of nipple is on Lifefactory baby bottles?
The 4 oz. baby bottles include the Stage 1 (0-3 months) silicone nipple. The 9 oz. baby bottles include the Stage 2 (3-6 months) silicone nipple.
Does Lifefactory carry other Stage nipples?
Yes, there are 4 silicone nipples available online: Stage 1 (0-3 months), Stage 2 (3-6 months), Stage 3 (6+ months), and the Y-cut nipple.
Does Lifefactory sell replacement parts?
Yes, several options are offered: Hydration accessories, silicone nipples, sippy caps, and solid caps.
